There was nothing that could stop Max Verstappen from getting the win in front of the Orange Army.

Here’s the ratings from race day...

Max Verstappen - 10

Verstappen was under huge pressure driving in his first home race, and he handled it perfectly. He looked comfortable all weekend and didn't need to worry about the two Mercedes machines behind him.

Lewis Hamilton - 9

P2 was the best it could have been for Hamilton. Despite driving a near perfect race, the pace just wasn't quite there and the Mercedes team didn't have an answer for the charging Red Bull of Max Verstappen.

Valtteri Bottas - 7

Bottas looked strong in practice, but couldn't carry that form over to the weekend. He played the support role perfectly, though and will be a vital part of Mercedes push for an 8th world title.

Pierre Gasly - 10

Quite possibly Gasly's best weekend in a Formula 1 car. He had an uneventful race due to how faultless he was throughout the weekend. I'm not sure why Red Bull aren't giving him another chance but they'll have to soon, otherwise they could lose him to a rival team.

Charles Leclerc - 9

Alone for the whole race, Leclerc was the only midfield runner anywhere near Gasly, but couldn't make the pass to P4. His mistake in Q3 cost him what could have been another podium finish for the Ferrari driver.

Fernando Alonso - 8

A poor Saturday was followed by a poor start to the race, but the two time world champion found his pace late on and passed Ocon and Sainz to secure a brilliant P6.

Carlos Sainz - 6

In terms of results alone, Sainz had a fairly decent weekend, but dropping back a place after securing P6 in qualifying will leave a bad taste in the Spaniards mouth. He had a decent battle with Alonso, though.

Sergio Perez - 7

A mixed weekend for Checo, but a decent recovery meant Red Bull got points on the board. He needs to stop putting himself in these situations, though, as it isn't good for the team in the tightest title battle we've seen for years.

Esteban Ocon - 6

A decent result for Ocon in what was largely a forgettable weekend for the Alpine driver, he started in P8 and finished in p9 after getting passed by Perez towards the end of the race.

Lando Norris - 7

After a blistering start to the first half of the season, Norris has set super high standards that he fell well short of in Zandvoort. Still, a point is a point and he showed maturity on track to pull off a decent recovery drive.

Daniel Ricciardo - 7

A decent Saturday followed by a disappointing Sunday. Ricciardo could have been on for good points, but couldn't carry his qualifying pace into the race. This meant the team prioritised Lando Norris, something the Australian will not be used to.

Lance Stroll - 6

On the back foot after an early end to Q2, Stroll wasn't able to make up any ground after being stuck behind George Russell for a number of laps. The only positive is that he did beat his team-mate across both days, which is something.

Sebastian Vettel - 6

A weekend to forget for the four time world champion. Knocked out in Q1 after being blocked by both Haas drivers, his Sunday didn't go much better after a spin dropped him back from the points scoring positions.

Antonio Giovinazzi - 8

With questions surrounding his future with Alfa Romeo, Giovinazzi responded in the best way possible by securing P7 in qualifying. He lost places to faster cars, and was running in P10 before a puncture ruined his chances of scoring some well deserved points.

Robert Kubica - 8

Thrown in at the deep end when Kimi Raikkonen tested positive for COVID-19. Despite having no previous experience of the circuit, and not having raced an F1 car since 2019, the Pole did a solid job. He qualified ahead of both Haas cars and finished ahead of them and the Williams too. His pace may not have blown people away, but having a clean race while keeping pace with others can be seen as a success.

Nicholas Latifi - 6

A great effort to make it in to Q2, he crashed while pushing on a hot lap, but it shows how much pace the Williams had. Come race day, it was a quiet one with some decent moves on other lower midfield drivers. Will be annoyed he couldn't beat Robert Kubica though.

George Russell - 5

Following his podium at Spa, Russell might have been expecting bit things at a track that looked like it would suit the Williams. He did make it to Q2, but a big crash brought him back down to earth. Come race day, he managed to hold off the attacking Aston Martin of lance Stroll, but ruined his raceby speeding in the pit-lane.

Mick Schumacher - 4

A poor weekend for Schumacher in comparison to others he's had this season. He managed to out-qualify his team-mate (again) but that was about it.

Did not finish

Yuki Tsunoda - 5

Retired through no fault of his own, but he wasn't having a good race, especially when you compare his performance to his team-mate.

Nikita Mazepin - 3

Another messy weekend for Mazepin. Decided to publicly call-out his team-mate and then followed it up with some dangerous defending on the home straight.
