An update from the New York Knicks Press Office has stated that their Latvian big man, Kristaps Porzingis is making solid progress in his recovery after tearing his ACL 48 games into the 2017-2018 season.

On pace to have a career year, with averages of 22.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game while hitting 39.5 percent of his three-pointers, the 2018 All-Star looked like he could lead the Knicks back in to the playoffs in the coming seasons before his injury stopped him dead.
The update form the Knicks gives no indication if or when Porzingis could return, but it’s unlikely the now 9-25 Knicks will risk rushing his return, especially with the 2019 summer free agency period nearly upon us. The Knicks are in full rebuild mode under new head coach David Fizdale (take that for data), so the team is focusing on what they can do next season and beyond, while fans are already dreaming of a landing a marquee free agent to play alongside one of the most exciting talents in the NBA.
